Welcome to Rare Thatch USA

Imagine you are sitting back, enjoying a gentle breeze wafting across your face. All is quiet except for the chirping of birds. You feel as if you are a million miles from the hustle of daily life, but in reality you didn’t have to travel at all to get there. You are enjoying the benefits of a wooden thatched garden gazebo in your own garden!

Traditional garden gazebos have been fixtures in gardens for centuries, the existence of outdoor wood garden gazebos has been traced back to the earliest gardens. Wood Gazebos are now one of the most prevalent outdoor garden design structures in the world. They can be round, oval, hexagonal, square, octagonal (octagon), small or large, rustic or plain, open sided or with enclosed screened sides, metal or wooden and anything else that one can dream up.

By design and definition, a gazebo is a `gazing room`, an isolated outdoor timber structure intended to offer panoramic views of the surrounding garden landscape. It is meant to serve as a haven, a quiet place in which to take a moment to catch ones breath and relax or contemplate as the busy world continues outside.

The development of thatched roofs dates back to prehistoric times, and in all probability Africa, when early man started to build a basic roof, shelter, hut or canopy to shade and protect themselves from the elements. These roofs, shelters, huts or canopies were covered with a thatching materical, typically, grass, reeds, straw and indeed thatch itself.

The uses for our wooden garden gazebos and outdoor structures are endless: relaxed get-togethers, entertaining a party of family and friends, summer barbeques (whatever the weather!), outdoor patio dining rooms, unwinding after a hectic day at work, housing a hot tub or spa on your patio, sitting, reading or simply watching the garden wildlife or the world go by. Our commercial wooden gazebos and outdoor structures have been installed at hotels for outdoor wedding venues.

All our wooden thatched gazebos are available small or large, freestanding (for siting on a timber deck or patio), open on all sides or enclosed with sides. The canvas, wood or screened enclosed gazebos are ideal if you own a hot tub or spa as they provide privacy and additional shelter from the elements. Our range of square roof gazebos and outdoor structures have been designed specifically to accommodate the most popular hot tub and spa sizes.
